Since version 4.0, Oracle APEX provides the developer the ability to create multiple versions of an Interactive Report and save them as publicly available reports. This is a great feature as can be used to provide the end-user multiple views of the same report. There are multiple times, when an Interactive Report has so many columns that we as developers are hard pressed to choose which ones to display. And we end up leaving a long list of columns in the report and the users have to scroll 4 times the size of their screen to see all the columns. Publicly saved versions of an Interactive report can be used to get around this issue.
Once you have created and saved one or more alternative versions of an Interactive report, the question that follows is how do I link to a saved version of this report? You may want to redirect a user to a saved version that has Control Breaks, Formulas, Row Highlighting etc. and you want the user to be redirected to that version of the report instead of the Primary report.
We all know that there are multiple ways to pass parameters and filter conditions to an Interactive Report. But how do you link to a saved report? When I tried to do this, the documentation said that I need to set the request to IR_REPORT_
From your Application Home, follow the path as show below. Application Home Page -> Utilities -> Saved Reports (Under Interactive Report Utilities on Right Side Region)
If you have any saved Interactive reports, you will see them as per the report above shows. To link to one of the saved report, set the link as follows. Notice the value of the Request.
That's all.
